Lexuma XGerm UV Sanitizer was chosen by the Hong Kong Consumer Council for assessing the degree of safety and also the sterilization performance among other sanitizing products available in the Hong Kong market. The result was reported in the recent Choice Magazine. XGerm received an overall moderate rating.
From the report of the Choice Magazine, the rating of XGerm in the aspect of safety is high. The ultraviolet radiation of XGerm is the lowest among all tested products. It is safe for using, while it also offers a sufficient disinfection result. The report also mentioned about the UV light of XGerm not being turned off automatically if the lid is opened during the sterilizing process. In fact, there's a series of LED indicators on XGerm showing the sterilization progress so that the customers are notified when will the sanitization process end. XGerm also offers a start/stop button which allows the consumers to control when to start / stop the sanitization process if needed. Furthermore, as part of the safety guide for all our products in our product listings and user manual, customers are warned and advised not to look at the UV light directly for ensuring the user's safety. We also offer 2 other higher end models (XGerm Pro & XGerm Ultra) which provide a auto-switch-off feature when the lid is open. The overall rating is moderate in this aspect.
In the section of sterilization performance, XGerm got a high rating in the sterilization efficiency. Even though the sanitization time is shorter and the ultraviolet radiation is lower than the other brands, the UV light of XGerm can kill 99.90% of bacteria attached on the object. The sanitization performance is quite efficient compared with other tested brands which require a much longer sanitizing time or a high radiation level.
From the Choice Magazine, we found that the some of the brands who got high rating, their sanitization time is relatively high compared with XGerm. Since we know that it is quite difficult for our customers to disinfect their phone with XGerm for 30 minutes, we keep the disinfection time in around 10 minutes. As the result, the sterilization performance may not able reach up to 99.99% comparing with the other models which the sterilization time is around 30 minutes. If you want to achieve a higher sanitization performance of XGerm, you may sanitize your daily items for more than once. To conclude, the report could provide a complete comparison since all elements are quite different among all tested units.
The design of XGerm is considered the using habits of our customers. The power of UV light is low which the harm to human is low too. UVC light can hurt our eyes and skin quickly when the UV light power is high. Moreover, we keep the sanitization time within 10 minutes which will not affect your usage of mobile phone and other items. Moreover, the sanitization time cannot be too long since the UV lights may damage and discolor the materials. 近日，消委會為市面上8款紫外光消毒器進行測試，Lexuma XGerm為其中一個測試樣本。測試集中在安全程度及殺菌消毒表現，結果顯示XGerm的整體表現屬中等。
